Well Google seems to have made a change in the formatting of a blog.  At least the first picture goes in first, now.  That's an improvement, but I would have liked this first picture to appear a little larger even though it is an ATC.  It is a Gulf Fritilliary butterfly and the large white spots on the wings are actually shiny, metallic silver in real life.  This is an original painting (prisma colors and water colors) from one of my own original photographs, so I have to invoke copyright here, in case I start to sell on eBay.

Heerman's Seagulls at Carlsbad Beach last week.  They come up to us from Mexico in the winter. They will be my next attempt for an ATC.

We leave this week and I will not be back on this blog until December 6th, unless I miraculously learn how to use Moth's lap top.  I am taking all my paints etc with me -- not to mention my camera -- and plan to do much painting in the evening, hopefully.  I will continue to leave (and accept!) comments until Thursday,  and I hope to be able to visit you all via lap top.  But if all you get is silence from me, be sure I have not forgotten  you. I WILL be back.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Have an awesome time, Chris & MOTH -- I am quite envious that you get all that luscious time to paint. I think I need a desert island - the only way I would find time to practise my new-found hobbies!

(Oops, I accidentally posted this under October). 'Have enjoyed reading here, and the art and photo of the cowbird, and of your books. What is a best way to order a book? ~Kip in Missouri

That's so pretty, Chris. Good luck with the Ebay thing.
May I suggest that you add your name to your images - even non-sale ones. Just to reinforce your copyright and avoid any 'orphan works' problem. Hugs.

We have a recently acquired laptop and it goes with us on trips. I find it rather awkward to use and haven't installed my camera soft ware on it.
I'm assuming Bailey will have an attentive cat sitter to look in on him and tend to his needs, but he will miss you badly. Our cats do dreadful retaliatory things when left to their own devices for even a day!
I appreciated your comment on Jemima's picture on my blog. Those of us who love our pets miss them when their little lives come to an end, and each one remains very special in our memories.
Have a lovely safe Thanksgiving trip..will look forward to your return to posting.

Nice looking painting and enjoy your vacation and hope to see more of your paintings, esepcially if you paint some sea gulls that would be nice as well.

Chris, "Kiki" is a wren who come every eveninf to sleep in his little birdhouse. I can hear him singing often but on my blog it is the song I recorded from Deezer.
