R IS FOR .....

When I was visiting my youngest son recently, everyone went out to the store and left me napping on the couch.  I had been dozing about 20 minutes when I heard, BEEP BEEP BEEP --  not too unusual in my high tech technological son's house.  Something is always beeping.  But then a fairly loud noise followed. It sounded like an engine or a dishwasher or something.  I decided to ignore it, -- for a while -- finally I decided I had better get up and take a look.  This is what I saw:

A bomb ??!!

NO!

R IS for RUMBA THE ROBOT.
It was Rumba the Robot doing her daily duties.  She chugs across the floor spinning, vacuuming and polishing as she goes until she bumps into something.  Then she just turns around and goes in another direction.  She did this for about an hour and when everyone came home, behold the floor was clean!
Ah, these modern times!

R IS ALSO FOR RABBIT
Of which we have several enjoying our back yard.

I can't get that old song out of my mind (must have been during the war years that it was popular):

Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run.
Here comes the farmer with his gun, gun, gun.
He'll get by without his rabbit pie,
So...run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run.

If you remember this old song, you're at least as old as me!

Finally... R is for 'RIP'...
my beautiful dog who lived with me at Flamborough during the fifties and then with my parents until he died of old age.

What a fun dog he was!

I could make good use of that floor cleaning robot!

What a lovely, intelligent face your dear old dog has. We never forget the special animals in our lives do we?

A robot for housework, would love it if it could do ironing too!

I often wondered if those Robot things actually worked.
I can imagine it would be a bit startling to wake up to.
Sweet dog Chris.
Hope you have a terrific day.

I would love to have a robot that could do that to my kitchen, bathroom and utility room floors. I bet it cost a lot. Sorry I haven't been around much, seems I've just been so busy with things other than the computer. Although I do try to check out Facebook everyday to see what my kids are doing. LOL Thanks for your visits.

What a smart son...I've heard of those but never seen one, and now have a first hand report that they work!!!

Your rabbits are so cute, and yes I'm old enough to remember that song.

Your RIP....what a sweet dog and memory. I had a Black Cocker Spaniel from age 5 to 17.. Wonderful pet.

Oh, I have one of those roombas but it is sick right now and only goes around in circles, - never moves ahead, so I have given up on the one spot it cleans in case it wears right through the rug.

A lovely dog....

Now, I think that I could become good friends with Rumba, the Robot and it could rest well in my abode.

So they do work then those Rumba Robot floor cleaners...often wonder if they really did work or not.

Cute little rabbit song, never heard of that one before.

Nice to keep pet pictures of remembrances..I consider pets to be family and so I too also hang on to my pets photos that I once had.

I wouldn't part with my Roomba for anything - it works far better than I do!

Lovely Rs! We have a Roomba (similar to a Rumba, I guess) Having a techy husband has its advantages quite frequently. Our first Roomba was called Felicity because she was fussy but we call our present one Veronica - she's larger and more stately.
