Seabirds Nesting

This was what I was able to do while we were cruising, so smooth was the ship. I copied this from a post card I bought on board. It looks quite simple and easy to do, but it actually took many days and hours. When I look at it, I remember the beautiful views from the large panorama room where I was sitting and it brings back the peaceful and calm memories.

I always feel I have to be doing something rather than just sitting. This was much better than reading, which was what most others were doing. I'm sure I didn't miss a thing.

Very pretty and very pink. The more you tell us about the cruise the more I want to take one... But I'm trapped here in Phoenix. lol

What a beautiful painting! I can hardly believe you did it on the cruise. Evidently your ride was more smooth than our little ferry was. We could hardly walk without holding on to one another. LOL!

That is lovely Chris....is it all done with your colored pencils?
You are such a pro at that!!!

I finished one to post on Monday. Feels good to have my brushes back in my hand.

I wish I could do things like that!

Wanda: Yes, it is all done with my Prisma Color colored pencils. The shack itself is like clapboard, so I colored each strip or plank individually. I had to use three colors over one another to get the right effect. I think by doing each strip individually it helped to give the background depth and hopefully each strip looks a little different from the other.

Hey Chris....thanks for the explanation... I love the way you layered it for the textured effect.

Nice work.
