WEDNESDAY'S WORDS ON THURSDAY

SO I'M NOT PERFECT...

Far from it, in fact!  My sin has separated me from God, who is holy, sinless.  I want to know how I can be made clean from my sins so that I can stand before my holy God.  The Bible tells me that God has decreed that for sins to be forgiven, blood has to be shed.  That was God's choice -- His method. Who am I to argue with God?  But a sinful man (or woman) cannot shed his own blood for another sinful man. He would be shedding his own blood for his own sins.  So Christ, as the perfect, sinless man made the perfect sacrifice  of shedding His own blood -- not for His sins, for He had none, but for MY sins -- and for any others who wish to have their sins forgiven.

Hallelujah and praise God for that!

Praise God from whom all blessing flow... Is that any better blessing than the gift of salvation.

Thanks Chris for another powerful word.

Hope you have warmed up. Eating all those chocolate biscuits should have helped.

After a lifetime of hearing this concept preached it is still marvelous, beyond understanding.
For all its mystery, I sometimes fear that we needlessly complicate the gift of salvation with too much rhetoric and exegesis--when perhaps acceptance and praise would be enough [?]

Simplicity itself really. Yet in our ancestors' search for the knowledge of good and evil we have complicated everything by questioning everything and feeling ignorant and naive if we don't. We wanted to know the difference between good and evil. Judging by the state of our world today, I fear many of us have not yet found it.
