BAILEY

Just a note to all my very supportive blogging friends to let you know that the sad saga of Bailey is over.

It is a sad day, but it had to be. It was all over in less than an hour from when I woke him from his bed in the sunshine of the patio window, to his demise. It would have been so much worse for him to be caged for 5 days in the off chance that someone would take him -- and who knows, maybe brought back again because of his problem.  This was the most peaceful way for him.

I may not be blogging again until next week as I am going to see my son.  I will miss you all.  But I will be back.

I feel for you, many years ago we made that same same tough decision.
Have a safe trip.

We've had to take this very step a few times in our many years of having cats. Its a tough decision, but I think its a kinder one than abandoning an animal to a shelter situation and wondering if there will be a new owner and how that person might treat a cat with "special needs".
I'm sorry. You will miss Bailey's company.

Only someone who has had to make that decision can really understand how you feel - so sad. Praying for you,

Yes, we have felt what you are feeling. It hurts. But now with your memories of Bailey, you will move on...time is on our side.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

You did the right thing, Chris. I am glad that you didn't abandon him to some shelter and he wouldn't have understood. Glad you are getting away for a few days. Being with your family will help.
