I'VE BEEN BUSY THIS WEEKEND

Wanda put up her Art Challenge watercolorsbywanda.blogspot.com  last week and since I hadn't done any drawing for a week, I just had to get down to it right away.  Her topic was people. Ugh!  Too hard. Well, I side stepped it a little and did more of a portrait:

 I call her Miss Modesty.

Then I felt a little guilty for not doing PEOPLE, so I next did this one:

The Proposal

I really didn't spend enough time on this.  It needs a better finish to it. Kind of messy.

But before I did either of these,  I did this one of Abe's Baby Rabbit -- not for Wanda's Art Challenge, but because I liked it, and of course I like it the best:

I did this based on a photograph courtesy of Abe Lincoln who can be found at
You have to scroll all the way down to January 18th to see the original.
I'm much more animal oriented than people oriented.

All of these are done in Prisma Color pencils on smooth Bristol board.

Next up ABC Wednesday.

Love the sense of yesteryear to the people pics, Chris. I think they are lovely and honestly? I like them better than the cute little bunny!

Oh - I did a portrait too. Should I have done people? Oops!

I think you've done really well on this challenge. (Though I love the bunny too!)

All this in one weekend! You have been busy. I like the portrait, but I don't think the girl in the second picture should accept Mr shifty, he looks altogether insincere.
He must be after her fortune.

Wish I could draw like that!

Great job, Chris! But Miss Modesty is my favourite!

Well Chris, as guess from all the comments you must know you do have talent for people. I just want you to write a short story to go with both.

I've been so busy with some "family" matters, that I'm still working on mine. Living close to the grandkids is great, but sometimes I called on at a moment notice to help with something, such has been the case this week.

Love and Hugs
Wanda

I could do it better with the rabbit! Two of them were cavorting on our patio right in front of the sliding glass door this afternoon. I suspect we will have our own little baby rabbits soon!

I like all your drawings. I just did faces, not the whole person.

Snafu: you are right about him looking shifty. That's because I made a mistake while drawing his face and couldn't erase it, so gave him a mustache instead -- hence the shifty look I think -- not to imply that mustaches make people look shifty, only in this particular instance. I'd better stop this explanation while I'm ahead.

By the way, my comment two before this one was supposed to be in response to Wanda's comment above.
