RANT!

Why are they messing with Blogger?  Don't they realize that every time they update and make it 'user friendly-er' we have to learn to use it all over again.  I don't spend all day on my computer reading and writing blogs.  It's like going to the grocery store you've been using for years only to find they have moved all the stock around to different places.  The grocery store is not number one in my life and neither is Blogger.  They are both enjoyable and useful but don't keep changing them!!

It's also like telephone salesmen and door to door salesmen trying to sell me something that is better, easier, more effective than what I've got now.  I'm sure it is, but tell me about it some other way without invading my territory, I'll look into it if I have a need.

I must be getting old and grumpy, but I bet there are others who feel as I do.  I don't do twitter, I don't do texting, I don't do face book and I don't do apps.  Hey, I don't even do cell phones except in an emergency!  Something else I don't do is the next dozen or so tech updates, fads or inventions that will come out in the next 12 months.

Something else -- if my  spell check can't keep up with the new techie words or alternative spellings without underlining them in red, then maybe someone should be working on that instead of getting fancier than some other product.  It's getting so that when I see 'user friendly'  or 'more intuitive'  I think,  then it's not for me. It's not my greatest thrill in life to learn how to do something new on the computer. Give me a break. I don't need you to take over my life.

Come on now, let's be honest. It's really all about getting people to use your product more than someone else's. ($$$$$)

Some young man recently expressed himself graphically when going through TSA security recently which caught on as a catch phrase.  I'm a lady, so I won't repeat it here, but all the same, Stay out of my Yard, --  please!

WHOOPS! I can't believe I really wrote that last paragraph!

Then I'm getting old and grumpy too. I don't like it. It doesn't seem to be any faster and it's certainly not better.

WOW, AJ! You were quick off the mark. My post hadn't been up more than 2 minutes. I'm so glad you agree. I always enjoy your rants when you let off steam.

I am a techophile so genuinely new things are always interesting although not necessarily better, but the old adage, 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' seems to apply here. I think M-AJ is having trouble sleeping judging by her recent post time stamps.

Count me in with the grumpies, too! I know people need to make a living and to drum up business but I find it really irritating when they knock on my door to ask if I want the trees trimmed or the barge boards painted. Grrr!!

Another grumpy old woman here. Blogger has been broken for quite some time but do they fix it - not on your nellie - they roll out yet another 'exciting' update. Grr!!

I don't do Twitter, Facebook or cell phones either, Chris. I have no aptitude for Apps either.

I'll just pass the soapbox back to you for your next commenter. LOL

@Snafu
Well, yes I am having trouble sleeping but we always get up at the crack of sparrow-cough because K drives an hour and a half to get to work. He leaves by 7 but I don't have to go till about twenty past. So I read blogs......

(We won't mention doing the laundry at 4.30am last week though......)

Blogger needs to 'fix' the sign-in problem which has hampered comment posting, they need to restore the avatar list of followers--etc.
Like you, and others commenting here, I don't text, tweet, FB. I use my email a great deal and my local server can't tell me why 'mail' doesn't reach me--the lost emails are totally random.
Yes--refine what should be functional and don't offer me silly gadgets!
And by the way--aren't we all tired of people who can't converse with us without alsobeing glued to a texting device?
Who knew that being in constant contact was so vital!

Everytime there is change at work I see how everybody fights it and complains, me I just embrace it, adapt to it really quick, and overcome it. Then by the following day or two it's business as usual. Some of the changes they do may suck but I really never notice.

I must be really naive, I didn't understand the bleeped bit!
I only 'do' Blogger..I clicked to try the new interface and it told me it wouldn't work unless I upgrade to google chrome. What's google chrome and do I have to pay for it? Info they left out, so I'm none the wiser.

Absolutely agree. At least they've let us keep the old interface. The new interface doesn't seem to have the same edit functionality which for the amount of mistakes I make is very necessary.

Well, the last paragraph had no impact on me as I haven't a clue what you are talking about, Chris! LOL I too get frustrated with the constant upgrades, updates, more more more, cha ching. Nothing in particular comes to mind, however, this morning. LOLOL

So far things haven't changed for me. I kind of like the way things are except I would like to see the followers again.
I guess I'll keep plugging along and when it gets too dicey I'll probably just stop blogging and stick with Facebook.
Love your rant Chris and who knows I may have a good one coming any day now.

I think its more than just the money. I may be paranoid, but each time the 'update' we have to put in more information...I think it is a way of collecting, sharing and selling information.
