This session we were asked to choose a special word for 2015. I wanted to choose one that is different from most routine words -- one that would make me think, so I chose:
Grace is receiving something you don't really deserve. For example, if you turn in a school assignment late, your professor may accept it because he felt you had a good excuse or he just felt like it. Grace has been defined as the "unmerited favor of God". Grace also has another side. I may receive grace, but then I can also give grace to those who may not deserve it from me.
So I choose GRACE as my word for the year -- Grace because I have received forgiveness for my sins and GRACE because I would like to show forgiveness to all those people and things I have shown no patience for in the past.

Such a wonderful word Chris, especially in the context you have explained. A gorgeous zentangle drawing as well which matches your inspirational word so well.
GRACE, GRACE, oh how we need His GRACE...every day in every way. Hello from Tennessee. I came to your blog from Wanda's (Got a minute or two) and hope we might become friends here in blogland! Have a great Monday!
Linda
Where would be be without GRACE.
This is a word for a lifetime.
And of course you have illustrated it only like you can with your wonderful style.
grace...how I need this each day of my life. I'll share my word after my friends and I do our rock painting (our word being in the center) this Friday. BTW since so many of you bloggers are having this infernal captcha, are you being forced to have it?
very inspiring word and wonderful zentangle to go with it! We all do need Grace so much.
Norma, the Captcha just showed up on my blog I'm not sure why. I guess Google are getting complaints about spammers getting into comments. I haven't looked into getting rid of it. Maybe I should
Love the word, and all it stands for in our lives. Love your artwork...very graceful! And I wish I could do such graceful lettering! Beautiful post, Chris!
OH!! I forgot to make the confession! Thanks Kaybee. I didn't actually print the word GRACE. I used the computer, because I can never get lettering right. Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead anyone. I thought doing it in black and white instead of color was challenge enough!
Hi Chris,
Love your word as well. May we be filled with the Spirit so we can extend grace to others.
I have heard of zentangle but didn't know what it was. Very interesting.
Blessings,
Janis
"Grace" is a beautiful word, and the line work you did definitely matches. I love the black and white tones, wonderful job!
Yes, that' a great word, Chris. Truly. I enjoy how you drew it too. It's what I would call, classy! And those who act with grace indeed imbue class. It's definitely distinctive too. WE need more grace in this word. Realising we are recipients of grace too certainly helps keep us humble I think. I like that. Great job. Thank you for doing this for us all. :)
grace is a wonderful word. I think grace is like forgiveness as it takes a lot to give and receive grace, similar to forgiveness.
by the way, you may want to link directly to the CT post as I often visit late and has to search for that post. I hope I'm not being nosy for saying that.
have a great day.
What a wonderful choice, I think we could all use that one.;)
This post resonated for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that I feel I have been granted Grace in life on more occasions than I can count. What a wonderful reminder to pay that gift back, hopefully multiplied many times over, over a lifetime!
So, dear Chris, how did GRACE, your word for 2015, work out for you this year? :) thought I;d check in a year later to see how you did. Hoep you are well.
