J is for Jesus
I debated with myself about doing this post because I don't want to offend anyone, but I have been through ABC Wednesday at least three times and tried to stay away from being 'religious' or controversial. But I think it's time, this week.
I hope you won't write me off as a fanatic and I hope I don't turn you off. I don't want to lose the friendship and communication I have with so many of you, my blogging friends, some of you who do not believe as I do -- and that is your privilege.
But here are three things about JESUS that are a part of me and that mean everything to me :
1. Jesus said, "I am the way the TRUTH and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me. " I love the fact that in this troubled and misguided world where we no longer know if what we read and hear is the TRUTH, Jesus says He is the TRUTH. That is my rock of stability. I may not know the truth but He does.
2. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life." I have been a born again Christian for 55 years now and the closer I get to the end of my life, I find strength, comfort and joy in knowing that this life is not the end. JESUS has spent my 73 years preparing me for the BEGINNING, -- the new life I will have in heaven.
3. Jesus Christ is "the same yesterday, today and forever." It is such a blessing to me to know that God does not change. I can rely on Him. He doesn't have whims and fancies. He is Who He is, to use a modern expression. I can rely on Him to treat me righteously and fairly, to give me all that I need and more. His love for me does not change. He ALWAYS loves me even though He may not like some of the things that I do. What a joy to be loved unceasingly and unconditionally, forever.
SO THIS IS WHO JESUS IS TO ME -- IN MY OWN WORDS, THAT DON'T EVEN SCRATCH THE SURFACE OF WHAT 'BEING A CHRISTIAN' MEANS TO ME.

Chris - this is lovely! When I think of you I think of |Flamborough Head and Jesus - need I say anymore. We are who we are because of many things - our chemistry.
P.S. Ella wnt to the luxury cattery near Flamborough! lol! Thought of you both ways - there and back!
I would say Amen and Amen. I use my Sunday Meditation to share my love and devotion to Jesus. Sharing scriptures, and prayers.
I love that you took this opportunity to share your love of our Savior, and the critical words he gave us.
you should never be afraid to be yourself :)
Our beliefs have a lot of imapct on who we are--who we are in the process of becoming.
Too many academics and theologians try to make faith in "Jesus" too complex--
Whether one is Christian [as I am] or pagan--there are certain mysteries for which we have no answers--our faith is a choice.
I think we can share our persuasions winsomely--as you have just done.
Oh, yeah, preach it, sister!
You should be who you are.
ROG, ABC Wednesday team
Thanks for your testimony. You should never fear being who you are and why you believe.
That's what I love about our blogging.
Amen and as Roger says...Preach it sister!
That's my JESUS too and I hang on to HIM every single moment of my LIFE. ^_^ Thanks for this post.
Amen to that Chris, God bless you for sharing this.
My take on J, please come and see.
I agree with Roger. The Truth shall set you free, darlin'. And maybe with luck and faith, begin a miracle in someone else as well.
ROG is funny!..and I agree with every word. I know that Jesus is holding me in a big hug right now.
With Jesus in our lives all this kaos our politicians are creating is a lot easier to take. I too say AMEN! Jesus is love alelujah!
This is a good one...AMEN! mine is up too!
This was lovely and uplifting (and I am Jewish...) I once went to the doctor for a physical and he asked me if I believed in God. I was taken aback - not expecting it. I thought a few seconds and answered, "yes" and he told me how lucky I was to believe - how important it was, and how helpful it would be throughout my life. He was right and I often think of it - thanking God.
This was a lovely post. Thank you.
Lovely post, Chris, and heartfelt.
