We have had a lot of bird activity around our feeder, mostly house finches, house sparrows, white crowned sparrows, and gold finches. Of course the mourning doves are monopolizing everything and the scrub jay visits daily.
Here the most clear ones are the house finch , far left, and the gold finch, center.
This is quite a good shot (for me!) of the house finch and the white crowned sparrow.
The beautiful house finch just bragging about his color.
But this is another house finch whose color varies. When the sun shines on him he looks positively golden.
Close-up of a white crowned sparrow.
The fattest mourning dove on the feeding tray, just sitting there dominating it. I have plans for him and his friends. There are five more like him. They are eating me out of house and home. Then I have to deal with the squirrels. Stay tuned.
We have no such a variety of sparrows. The bird on my blog with feather black white and grey is not a magpy, it is a wagtail. LIke I love to wath the bird life in my garden !

You have so many blogs, I couldn't find your main one so I am commenting here. Thank you for visiting my blog.
While looking at your pictures, I realize just how beautiful your part of the country looks at this time of year.
Blessings,
Cheryl
wish we had such variety - only sparrows, chickadees, magpies, blue jays, crows and the occasional red-headed downy woodpecker
Love the birds. YOu can sure tell we live in approximately the same part of So Cal...I would notice that white crowned sparrow anywhere...
